Few more days!
We sense some kind of impatience. Where are my games? My discs? And the Polls? Where is the :WM team!

We are busy updating our prices! Hahem, no, we were wondering when we could announce a release date that wouldn't be missed again. Will take few more days, for the better!

Everyone having preordered something will receive the news in time and will have to validate their shipping address, no stress to have.

Thanks again for your patience.

:OAlso, while we got Zebbe counting all the NPC's in the game to know what would be the previous contest winner, here is another small contest. Something easy, nothing to win but the pride (and a medal)!

What happens? Where did it happen? Be creative and answer in comments below.

Herodes, 00:14:
"What the heck?", you thought. You found a Pier Solar sticker inside a Bus. You asked the driver for the sticker on his backwall... "V" for a happy fan that played the whole game... The black bar: he was afraid of some collectors for using the sticker ;)
Luitoine, 15:14:

Preorder Updates!
:OWe have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is the OST, Reprint & Reprint EP are delayed yet again. As mentioned before, we want the releases to happen simultaneously, so the shipping schedule can be more efficient.

There seem to be some misunderstanding about the shipping fee. It shall be paid when the item is ready to be shipped, something which was written, but perhaps not bold enough. We charge 6usd for shipping.
As patches on the wounds (the delay and this misunderstanding) we will be giving away next week free GEMS to people who pre-ordered.

The good news, for European people, is we setup a distribution channel in Europe, which will mean faster shipping and no taxes to be paid on your side.

Thank you for your understanding. We are once again very sorry for this delay and inconvenience.

You will be contacted once we have a set release date. For any questions or concerns feel free to contact the support.

:WM

tokay, 19:16:
You are right. Not everyone was being aggressive, there were also some self-centered folks who were obviously not able to read other comments than mine and who considered that there may not be anybody who had not already pre ordered a copy on this website.
nohro, 09:58:
Fonzie, there is no reason to apologize on your end at this point as there wasn't any animosity aimed at you or WM. I was just clarifying certain comments like buying it elsewhere missed the point of the problem entirely. We just wanted updated information
Fonzie, 08:49:
Everyone got contacted, at best took 7 days delay to answer support, we appology for that. Please remind that our products are original, they are not ports, made of recycled materials or stollen content. So that is why it can, sometimes, take some time. :
nohro, 04:05:
to reply to tokay, who has called other posters "aggressive" earlier and now questions why we don't just order from another site. We placed our orders already and were charged the money months ago and WM has lately lacked proper communication.

Historical is history!
Greetings,

Yes, as you may know, we have closed the setting poll for Project Y and the winner is post-apocalyptic/cyberpunk. It was perhaps the most exciting battle so far, with historical losing despite having the lead several times. WIth the end of this poll (the language poll will go on for now), the development of Project Y will start in a few days. If you have some ideas for the project, please share them with us on the boards. More polls for Project Y will come in the future.

megfuture_1.jpg

A few great lads on our boards have begun working on the Pier Solar strategy guide, based on tim333's text version on GameFAQs. It is really looking top notch so far, but if it will really happen may depend on you. Please give us your opinion on it via the poll to the right, where you can also give us some other feedback.

A pretty long while ago, we had a competition where people could win a custom-painted Pier Solar Sega Nomad. Martin won in a awesome around the world masterpiece!

pspolosolo1_3.jpg

pspolosolo2_4.jpg

This entry however has never been seen before, a "parody" of the shipping apocalypse which plagued the first run of Pier Solar, where Tim and his friend demonstrate outside a post office to get their "Polo Solos". Congrats to them too!

Until next time, punks!
All the best,

:WM

Fonzie, 15:49:
It can be both, but you can also upload somewhere & send to us directly using support page if you want to avoid public things!
Mrshoestore, 15:14:
Fonzie, when you say submit art or music, are you preferring people to directly send it to WM , or post their work onto the forums?
type2red, 14:38:
I would purchase a Pier Solar guide but only if it's a hard cover guide with lots of production art and new art otherwise a gamefaq is enough.
Fonzie, 13:33:
It could be anything really, there has been lot of discussion around the project and we always pay attention to what is being said. If anyone submit music or art to challenge a job, its cool too :) Take care.

Fonzie, 20/03/12 - 05:52
It's time for an update again!
First we'd like to congratulate "Touken" and "blockeight" for guessing the number of tracks on the OST closest of all; 77 and 79 respectively. 500 Gems, glory and our hats off to both of you!
Second prize winners of 100 Gems is: "sydyx" and "Axyron", who guessed 76 and 80 respectively. Congrats to you!

That gives a total of 4 winners, so nobody will get the third prize. As you may have figured out, the number of tracks on the OST is 78.

Next contest! Simply guess how many NPCs there are in Pier Solar.
:OWhoever is closest or gets it right first will win a Classic Edition copy of Pier Solar (any region of your choice). It may be your last chance EVAR to get it, if you don't have it already. Also, if you are an Investor, you will get it signed PLUS have your GEMS invested in any project DOUBLED. Twice the Gems power! Enter NOW! Participate by simply posting your answer below and dont forget to explain why you choose this number.

The "setting" poll will close the 27th of March. Once again, we have a fierce battle, this time between Historic and Post-Apocalyptic/Cyberpunk. Who will win? YOU may decide!

Help us spread the word about the Factory by using our banners and stuff in your forums sigs etc. See this link for all images. Thank you!

That is all for now, until later this month...

All the best,

:WM

Fonzie, 12:17:
Ya know man, I think its over now! We got a guy counting NPCs to know who won, still in progress!
Herodes, 01:07:
378 - because it's 42x9 and 42 is the answer to life the universe and everything.
pakita06, 19:25:
Enfin, j'ai trouvé comment participer à ce "jeu"!! Je propose 222 PNC. Or in english : 222! Bravo pour vos initiatives. P.
amcferron85, 04:19:
I guess 197. I am guessing that because I made a list of everyone's guesses. Also, I guessed how many towns there were and multiplied it by 11, then added 10.

Fonzie, 04/03/12 - 09:26
Brawler beat up platformer!
After a long, hard and fierce.. hrm, battle!, the beat 'em up and platformer genres both destroyed the rest. The winner is beat 'em up. With a pinch of RPG. For the platformer fans: don't worry, it's not the genre which makes the game great, it's.. hrm, :WM and the Factory!

The OST contest is over! The winners will be contacted by email prior public announcement. Congratulations to you, whoever you are!

:P

So, about the new polls. Perhaps you aren't too familiar with the themes/settings we have suggested. So, here are a few examples that should give you more meat on your bones:

- Historical: Exile, PowerSlave
- 80/90's decadence: SOR, Final Fight, Double Dragon
- Medieval/Fantasy: Golden Axe, Guardian Heroes
- Post-apocalyptic/Cyber-punk: Forgotten Worlds, Snatcher;
- Futuristic/Scifi: Mazin Saga, Phantasy Star II;

Also added, a language poll.

And finaly, a scaler regarding the number of playable characters.
Note that this is the playable characters, not the number of joypads. There will be for sure 1-2 player mode.

The polls and scalers will go on for now and we will announce their ending by email and blog a few days before it happens.

Until next time... happy voting!

Istemthebronx, 23:03:
I want the new game had more appearance of classic beat'em up series like Final Fight, Streets of Rage and Double Dragon. However, it's interesting a game with appearance of Shadowrun in mix with beat'em up.
LINK2LINK, 03:21:
Could you kindly inform us of the exact date that this next polling will end? Alot of us have not voted yet since we are still discussing it within our respective quarters. I would appreciate if you could answer this question at your earliest convenienc
EddHaddon, 11:58:
The more new polls and scalers appear the more excited I become! A Cyberpunk/Post-Apoc Beat Em Up RPG on the Megadrive - HUZZAH! mwahaha!

Fonzie, 01/03/12 - 12:52
Good day! Countdown!
The excitement keeps growing around Project Y. The poll is having a fierce battle and the MEGA POWER bar start to reach serious levels.

The "game genre" polls will end 3rd of March (1st second of first hour of 3rd of March, GMT), and as of yet, we have no definitive winner. It looks like platformer or beat 'em up will win, but nothing is clear or decided yet.
When the poll is over, we will move on to next one.

Due to request, an improved feature of the poll is the added more precision to the percents shown! How awesome is it?!

Also ending 3rd of March is the competition. If you want a chance to get some GEMS and perhaps a signed Pier Solar OST, place your guess of its number of tracks in a comment to the previous blog post.

:OIf you have any questions, please read the Terms of Service again or shoot us a question via the contact & support page at the site. If the former doesn't answer your wonders about the Factory, the latter will!

Until the poll ends... Have a great time!

:WM team

Pretty exciting I'm going to scale another 250 gems for meg power!

Fonzie, 21/02/12 - 08:29
News and Contest!
Greetings!

We are very happy with the enthusiasm and participation on the Magical Game Factory! The positive feedback from everywhere is overwhelming and we are very thankful for that.

:OAs you may know, we ended the platform poll for Project Y. The winner was Mega Drive/Genesis. As you may have read, we may port the game to modern systems as well, but those conversions may be inferior due to the lack of Blast Processing.
Right now, we have a raging battle of the genre Project Y will be. Platformer just passed Beat 'em up in the primary choice and RPG just passed Strategy for the second or "mix" choice. If you are not pleased with this, invest more GEMS or tell your friends to help you out! Due to the excitement, the poll will go on for now!

To celebrate the awesomeness of the Factory, here is a competition.
What you have to do is guess the following question: How many TOTAL audio tracks will the Pier Solar Definitive Original Soundtrack have, discs 1, 2 and 3?

:OPost your answer as a comment to this Blog post (with a little poem to 16-bit glory). Whoever is closest wins 500 GEMS, and if he/she guesses correctly, a signed OST will be included as well! Other prizes are 100 GEMS and 1 GEM. WOW! When will this contest end? Who knows! Don't wait, post your answer NOW! Only your first answer count, just don't try to cheat with multiple accounts, or you'll be cursed to play the :WM's Slippery challenge until you die.

Later, aces!

/WM

Fonzie, 09:46:
:D Some people around really want to play slippery challenge for a while. YOU!

I think thats gonna be 64 to commemorate 64Mega :D

The Factory is open!
:WM’s Magical Game Factory is our own unique approach to crowd sourced fundraising and will allow fans to support and influence the direction of future products. In short, we are attempting to eliminate the unidirectional approach to game design that treats customers and fans as simple sources of income.

:OOur first project, Pier Solar, taught us just how important community collaboration is. We received financial support, quality assurance testing, translations and promotional opportunities from people all over the world – people who wanted to see a unique project come to life and ensure that the end product was the best it could be. Developing Pier Solar with the help of the community not only made the game what it was, but guaranteed we’d never develop another project without community involvement.

This is where The Factory comes in.

The Factory will allow fans of :WM’s previous efforts to invest in future projects. The more GEMS a user has invested in a project, the more weight is given to their opinions during votes and consultations about the games direction. The best part is: GEMS invested will be converted to games once the project is completed. Investors that have supported the project from the beginning will also earn a number of perks and bonuses. An example would be a special “Investor Version” of the game, similar to the Posterity Edition of Pier Solar.

With the Factory we hope to develop a direct working relationship with our community and, more importantly, ensure that we are making exactly the kinds of games our customers want to play. After all, if our players are supporting us, we want to make sure they get the best experience possible. And we hope that people will get involved in :WM for the same reasons we did.

Because it’s fun.

bugden93, 17:28:
Just found this today and im extremely excited about it!
Fonzie, 09:48:
Thanks everyone for their support! And don't forget, spread the news! We will never have enough coverage!
Goofy, 00:09:
Bon courage a tous !
